DECEMBER 19, 2018
RICHMOND, BC (PGA of British Columbia) – Acclaimed instructors Gabriel Hjertstedt and Joseph Mayo will be among the featured presenters when the 2019 PGA of BC Spring Education Seminar returns to Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course on Feb. 11-12.
Hjertstedt, the two-time PGA Tour winner who has transitioned into a short-game expert working with several top players, and Mayo, known to most as the “Trackman Maestro” and the Director of Instruction at TPC Summerlin, will each conduct half-day presentations to attendees on the first and second days of the seminar, respectively.
This year’s program was developed with careful consideration of feedback from attendees in past membership surveys, including specific requests for Mayo’s presence, and in coordinating a variety of speakers with differing areas of expertise relevant to all Golf Professionals.
Other featured speakers will include Victoria-based chiropractor Dr. Stuart Love, who works regularly with many of the world’s best on the PGA Tour, including multiple major champions, and will discuss what allows elite players to compete at their highest level. Tom Mayenknecht, principal in Vancouver-based brand development company Emblematica, will address how golf facilities can employ best practices to see success in terms of marketing, communications and sales results. In addition, Golf Canada Director of Rules, Competitions & Amateur Status Adam Helmer will take the stage to discuss changes to the Rules of Golf that will be in effect as of 2019 and the resulting impacts for golf facilities.
The PGA of BC also remains committed to enhancing the profile of its members by providing presentation opportunities at the Spring Education Seminar. As such, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club Head Professional Alan Palmer will make a joint presentation with father Denzil Palmer, longtime General Manager at Royal Montreal Golf Club, on the evolution of prestigious golf facilities.

The Spring Education Seminar will once again represent a crucial opportunity for PGA of BC members to obtain points toward the Professional Development Program Order of Merit presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones. Members will receive eight (8) PDP points for each day they attend and sign in at registration.
The cost to attend the two-day event will be $99 (plus GST) for PGA of BC members. The amended price of entry will allow the Association to continue executing the Spring Education Seminar at a high standard – in terms of the profile and expertise of featured speakers, hosting the event at a top-quality venue, securing excellent food service options, and more – while remaining an affordable option compared to similar gatherings and conferences across Canada. The seminar is also open to non-members sponsored by an attending Class “A” Professional at a rate of $199 (plus GST).
Registration for the seminar can be accessed by clicking here and will remain open until Jan. 25.
We look forward to welcoming you to Tsawwassen Springs for two outstanding days of education in February.
