Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional?
I was an LPGA member when I came to the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club. My Head Professional Jim Pringle asked if I would be interested in applying for membership with the PGA of Canada. I was interested and I did become a member. I haven't looked back.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
I love working with people who are excited about the game and business of golf. I have found that here with the PGA of BC. I have met the most wonderful people, my only regret is that I waited so long to become a member.

At which golf facility did you first begin working within the industry, and who was the PGA Professional?
The Hirsch Creek Golf Club in Kitimat, BC is where I began my career in the business. I hand picked range balls off the range. It was back breaking work, however I was able to save my tiny pay towards my first set of Golf Clubs. This was 1981.

Who has influenced your career the most, and how?
That's hard to answer. I have many who have influenced my career. My two children Erin and Ewen were the driving force towards my career. I have had the pleasure of working with both my children in the industry. Now that is cool.

What career path led you to where you are today?
At my age I have had many paths in golf. Every day is a great day, every season is better than the last.

Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?|
I am Proud of my PGA BC membership. I worked hard on my golf game in order to pass the PAT. I worked even harder to fulfill the Class "A" requirements. It has been a great year.

If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
Greet everyone who comes to your club as a long lost friend.

What is your most cherished golf memory?
I played golf at Torry Pines with Billy Casper, pretty cool. However my most cherished golf memory is playing golf with my Dad and son. "Hey Grandpa, check out this shot". yelled my son Ewen. What a great day.

What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why?
The Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club of course. I would visit family on the Coast and always come to the club to play. It is a great lay out, an unforgettable walk through Cedar and Douglas tree lined fairways with mountain views.

What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails?
That we play a lot of golf, I WISH!

What is an interesting fact about yourself that doesn't involve golf?
I played Soccer for VCC Langara Falcons, and made the BC All Star team twice.
